Gastineau Human Services (GHS) is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people in Juneau restore their lives when they are adversely affected by addiction, homelessness, or incarceration. GHS provides individuals with opportunities to gain the skills and lifestyles necessary to better themselves and the community.
Current Programs Available at GHS:
The Glacier Manor Community Residential Center (CRC) is a correctional rehabilitation program for up to 40 individuals. This program emphasizes access to case management, employment, education, training, treatment of behavioral health disorders, and securing safe, adequate housing upon each person’s return to their home community.
Juno House is a transitional housing program for up to 15 individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness. This program provides safe and sober temporary housing and case management services for up to 18 months.
Mount Juneau Counseling & Recovery is part of the GHS Family. We specialize in addiction and mental health treatment services for adults. We have a 27-bed low-intensity residential substance use treatment program (3.1 ASAM), and outpatient individual counseling and groups. We can work with people all the way through from residential to outpatient to self-sustainability. For more information click here.
Persons who are pregnant, use drugs intravenously, and/or have involvement with the Office of Children’s Services, are eligible to receive an expedited assessment appointment.
